Digital Education in Pre-University Education

The event Digital Education in Pre-University Education, organized by AADF in partnership with Institute of Education Development hosted around 120 teachers, school principals and representatives of regional education directorates, in the premises of Qemal Stafa High School. The event was opened by Mr. Michael Granoff, AADF Chairman, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla, Minister of Education, Sports & Youth and followed with presentations by international and local experts in digital curricula. The experts informed the audience of the value the new innovative ICT curricula brings in pre-higher education by equipping students with 21st century skills, enabling them towards computational thinking and programming in particular in grade 12.  For 9th graders the new curricula helps the kids programming through games using Scratch program.

A backbone of the event was introduction of the new teaching and learning portal for ICT teachers, where the new functionality were demo-ed to the teachers present. Teachers and students followed with demonstrations of the importance of internet safety, cyberbullying, etc. The AADF is a strategic partner in education with Minister of Education, Sports and Youth and has contributed with local and international know how in shaping the new ICT curricula in pre-higher education, approved in September 2017.
